1 garlic clove, finely chopped
8 artichoke hearts
3 bacon slices, finely sliced
1 tbsp of capers
1 hard boiled egg

Saute garlic and bacon until brown. Remove the bacon and garlic from the pan but leave in the bacon oil. Add the artichokes and cook for 5 minutes at medium heat until soft. Return the bacon and garlic to the pan. Add the capers and the hard boiled egg. Mix well. Add the farfelle and serve with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.

This is the first time I’ve cooked with artichokes and I love the combination of flavours, the smoked taste of the bacon, the slight sourness of the artichokes and the caper; all balanced by the egg and mushrooms. I basically made up this dish, from talking to lainey on msn and doing some research online to see what ingredients people add to artichokes.
